Original L4D Survivors to star in L4D2 DLC.
Valve has made my week by announcing that the first DLC due for Left 4 Dead 2 in ‘early spring’ will feature the Survivors from the original game.
Zoey, Bill, Francis and Louis will meet up with Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle in a campaign called ‘The Passing’, which will be set after the events of ‘Dead Center’. The campaign will be set in “a small town in rural Georgia” and players will be assuming the roles of the Left 4 Dead 2 group who meet up with the original crew. The update will also bring with it a new ‘uncommon common’ infected, new weapons (one firearm and one melee weapon), new maps for Versus, Survival and Scavenge as well as a new mystery co-op mode.
Whilst Valve is keeping the new co-op mode a closely guarded secret for now, I wouldn’t mind betting that it somehow involves using the two teams of Survivors together.
The term co-op does suggest the new mode isn’t a competitive one and I must admit I would have also liked to see the two groups of Survivors going against each other, perhaps in some sort of timed campaign run like a race to a safe house but only time will tell what this new mode will bring us.
All in all though a pretty substantial update to look forward to although no word on whether it will be chargeable; my guess is it’ll be free for PC users and chargeable on the 360 (sorry guys).

can’t wait
Francis will rock his guns once more! Muahahah!
