The best of First Person Shooter Lego.

For those of us that have grown up with it, there’s something eternally endearing about Lego.

Whilst most of us probably don’t play with it anymore (unless of course you have children who *cough* require Mum or Dads ‘expert guidance‘), I’d be willing to bet you’ll still always a soft spot for it and probably occasionally find yourself having a peek at the latest kits as you browse through those high street stores that sell the kits.

Of course Lego has in recent years been turned into some fairly cool video games, with Travellers Tales Lego Star Wars probably the most renowned.

But video games companies are not the only ones inspired by Lego and using the iconic building blocks for portraying their gaming worlds; hobbyists are also rising to the challenge and recreating their favourite games and characters in Lego form.

There are a vast number of projects out there but I’ve scoured as many as I can to present you with what I think are currently the best Lego FPS Video Game recreations. I hope you find them as charming and enjoyable as I did.

Left 4 Dead

This superb scene from Left 4 Dead was displayed at the 2008 Brickcon event and was part of a display entitled Zombie Apocafest.

If your itching to view some more pictures head over to the Left 4 Dead Blog. Justin Stebbins site (below) also features some great Left 4 Dead work.

Halo

There are a number of intrepid Halo Lego builders on the web but in my opinion Justin Stebbins work is the best. Justin’s gaming Lego designs don’t end at Halo either; he has created a large amount of gaming related Lego which you can check out at his website (highly recommended). Justin also sells plans for his designs and decals should you wish to have a go yourself.

Half Life

Such is the popularity of Valve’s Half Life universe with Lego creators; it’s almost difficult to know where to start. Many of you may have already seen the well known Half Life Lego ‘Brickfilms’ series on You Tube; a true labour of love if ever there was one and well worth checking out.

The pictures below are my favourite Half Life Lego creations and where known the builders are credited:

There’s also an excellent archive of Half Life Lego pictures here. It’s a bit random but there’s plenty of great content to admire.

Team Fortress 2

Whilst it’s not yet as popular as Half Life in the Lego stakes, Team Fortress 2 has already attracted a fair few brickhead devotees. Steve Barker’s full size sentry gun is particularly awesome!

Bioshock

It’s little wonder that Bioshock’s unique and fantastic design inspires Lego builders and it’s no surprise to find a fair few Big Daddies out there. First up, V&A Steamworks superb effort:
